You are part of the agile, 15-strong “Digitalisation and data management” team established in 2017. As the interface between the specialist division and IT, the team drives the Gothaer data and digitalisation strategy forwards and is responsible for the development of predictive analytics, as well as requirements management for the group data warehouse. With your knowledge and your ideas, you actively contribute to leading Gothaer into the digital future.

What your new role looks like 

  • Decisive participation in the establishment and development of the topic of artificial intelligence
  • Collaboration on the identification, conceptualisation and prioritisation of AI use cases in close cooperation with the AI experts of the specialist divisions
  • Development of forecast, classification or optimisation models from first prototypes right through to the final production-ready solution in Python, R or SAS
  • Development of solutions in relation to the topics of fraud detection, NLP and image recognition with the aid of regressions, tree systems or neural networks
  • Support to AI solutions in production, support with the elimination of bugs, and with retraining and further development


What you bring with you

  • A Masters degree in (applied) mathematics, physics, information technology or a similar course of studies
  • Initial practical (professional) experience with modern data science and machine learning methods
  • Good knowledge of Python, R, Scala, SAS or a similar programming language, routine work with SQL / NoSQL databases
  • Initial experience with relevant frameworks, such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow or Keras
  • Basic knowledge of working on Linux servers without GUI, in object-oriented programming (e.g. Java) and version management (e.g. Git)
  • Good understanding of handling sensitive data in accordance with data protection law
  • Ideally experience of working in agile teams (e.g. SCRUM)
  • High motivation to learn, eagerness to experiment and assertiveness
  • Very good knowledge of English
